Hello! Welcome to Frogs and Food. We are frog and amphibian enthusiasts based near Prescot, Merseyside. We provide many speciality livefoods, plants for vivaria and surplus froglets from our breeding amphibians (predominantly dart frogs).

06/09/15 - New Plants added plus Doncaster IHS show
We've added a large number of plants to our listings today. We propagate these plants ourselves and so numbers of some, particularly slow growing species, will be limited. We are ever expanding our plant species so get in touch if you require any particular species. We will be taking a variety of plants, as well as our usual livefoods, to the IHS Breeders Meeting on 20th September at Doncaster Racecourse - at present we will be on the room on the 1st floor (most tables are on the ground floor) so come and say hi! |

IHS Doncaster Show 17th June 2012

These are a very pretty thumbnail dart species from the Ranitomeya group. They are non obligate egg feeders meaning they can be raised outside the adult vivarium or the adults can raise the tadpoles themsleves if provided with tadpole deposition sites (bromeliad axes, film cannisters etc).
They will thrive in heavily planted vivaria with climbers and their favoured bromeliads.

24/01/11 - More Phantasmal Dart Frogs available soon!
We are pleased to announce we shall soon have more epipedobates anthonyi froglets available for sale.
The lowland phantasmal dart frog is one of the easiest dart frogs to keep, being bold, hardy and voracious feeders.
As well as froglets we do have eggs and tadpoles of this species available.

5/11/10 New Culture Species Available
We are pleased to announce that we can now offer two more feeder species on our livefoods list.
Vinegar eels (Turbatrix aceti) are non-parasitic nematodes up to 2mm long that are a great starter food for obligate live feeders such as some fish fry, caudate larvae and other amphibian larvae such as Afican Dwarf Frogs (Hymenochirus) - £2 per starter culture (plus p&p)
White Worms (Enchyrtraeus albidus) are a non-parasitic worm species that grows from 1 to 3cm and are an excellent food for advanced hyenochirus and caudate larvae, newly morphed and adult amphibians as well as fish such as discus. Easily cultured on a soil/peat based mixture - £3 per starter culture (plus p&p)
